While Tremella doesn’t contain hyaluronic acid, preliminary research indicates it may support your body’s natural levels of this moisture-boosting compound. An animal study found that Tremella extract reduced the natural loss of hyaluronic acid associated with aging.[2]  Another animal study found that applying Tremella extract directly to the skin as a cream had a similar effect as using hyaluronic acid for skin moisture.[3]

Hyaluronic Acid vs. Tremella: Which is Better?

There isn’t currently any direct research comparing the effects of hyaluronic acid vs Tremella supplements. Based on the study about Tremella as a skin cream discussed above, it seems to have a similar effect of helping the skin retain moisture.

Further research is needed to compare these two moisture-boosting ingredients, but both seem to benefit skin health.
